OF ANATOMY
Discover Leonardo the anatomist by admiring his drawings of the human body

It exhibits machines and mechanisms that actually work, designed by the Universal Genius in his famous Codices.
Dedicated to Leonardo’s mechanics, when you visit it you can operate the Giant Tank, the Catapult, the Worm Screw, the Vertical Ornithopter, the Hydraulic Saw, the Printing Machine and many other inventions of the Universal Genius.
It is therefore a tactile, educational and active museum, suitable for curious visitors who want to discover the creative mind of the greatest genius of all time.
Its visit lasts about 1 hour and is recommended for ages 7 to 8 years.
The museum has been operating for more than 20 years in the heart of the historic centre of Florence, at Via dei Servi,66/r, just a few steps from the Accademia Gallery and Florence Cathedral.
The machines and mechanisms on display are not static carpentry constructions that you might see in other exhibitions, but real mechanical machines made with the intention of operation.

The visitor, therefore, can gain a direct learning experience through manual experimentation of what is on display.
The Leonardo Interactive Museum is visited by millions of people and has received the highest accolades for its value, achieving great success and international renown as an essentially interactive museum.
“Once you have known flight, you will walk the earth looking up to the sky, for there you have been and there you will wish to return”

In addition to the museum exhibition, there are fantastic Interactive Workshops, always active during opening hours, and included in the entrance fee.
In addition, the great master’s most famous paintings are exhibited in high-resolution, backlit, life-size digital reproductions.
Finally, at the entrance to the Museum, there is a well-stocked bookshop where you can buy books on Leonardo da Vinci and the city of Florence, wooden models, interactive machines and mechanisms to assemble, souvenirs and themed gadgets.

A guided tour of the museum is an excellent opportunity to take part in a fascinating and lively narrative about Leonardo da Vinci’s thoughts, life, works and inventions.
There are many curiosities and unanswered questions that still surround the myth of Leonardo: our guide will also entertain you on these interesting topics.
The guided tours organised by the museum contextualise the stories to the Florentine Renaissance period in which this great man lived and worked, and the exhibition will also include the telling of anecdotes, some of them unpublished, concerning Leonardo’s public and private life.
Guided tours must be purchased, selecting the desired day and time, in advance (click here to find out our rates and to proceed to their purchase).
They last just under an hour and, at the end, the visitor can remain in free practice inside the museum to experience first-hand how the exhibition content works and participate in interactive workshops.
